Join us for an evening of frontline resistance, film, and kōrero. We’ll be screening powerful short documentaries by Crusty of Manic Seeds Media, an activist filmmaker who’s spent the last 8 years documenting direct action campaigns across so-called Australia — from coal train blockades to mine site occupations.
These grassroots actions have played a key role in halting destructive projects. You’ll also hear from activists who were part of the Easter weekend blockade at Stockton Mine, as part of the growing campaign to stop Bathurst’s coal expansion on the Denniston Plateau.
They’ll share what went down, why they took part, and what’s next in the movement to protect the beautiful plateau from more mining and resist the Government’s Fast-Track Bill.
Come along to connect with others, learn more about direct action as a powerful tool for change, and find ways to get involved in the campaigns.
Light snacks provided. All welcome. Koha for Manic Seeds Media appreciated. We’ll advise on waged and unwaged koha suggestions but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
