Fossil Free UoA is a student-led group formed in early 2015, supported by 350 Aotearoa.
We demand the University of Auckland puts its money where its mouth is on social justice, sustainability, and environmental science, by removing its money from the fossil fuel industry.

Behind the scenes, this means pressuring the University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Stuart McCutcheon — along with the University Council and Foundations — to endorse and implement fossil fuel divestment.
We demand Prof. McCutcheon takes action and publicly supports divestment because he has the power to effect change as the spokesperson and leader of the university.
As one of our core members and recent graduates Blaze Forbes put it, “if the University of Auckland takes the science of climate change seriously, and honours its role as a critic and conscience of society, then it should put its money where its mouth is and divest.”

We also believe in fostering a sustainable and powerful community of student climate activists, by regularly skill-sharing and hosting on-campus events, trainings, and workshops.
With your help, we will make our cause too hard to ignore. Can you join us and make our collective action even stronger?
